He only really spray paint's in the first stage. Or does it ever return? Because it was the best part of the game. It has been a long time since I have even picked up Bart vs the Space Mutants. After the first stage, it turns into a generic platformer. I always thought the first stage was a nice recreation of Sprinfield. The x-ray glasses were a good play mechanic. From the mall stage on, it turns into a generic collect-a-thon platformer. But there is an adventure game like element to it. Probably the best of the Bart Simpson platformers on the NES. Would have been happier with an NES port of Konami's The Simpsons.Acclaim acquired the rights to the Simpsons through their LJN purchase, but the Genesis/ Mega Drive port was released under the Flying Edge label.
