Thanks, so it's absolutely pointless to change adapters. I'm even using a single (1) microSD in a dual-slot adapter and it does NOT drop speeds to single-digit, I still get 14 MB/s RW from CR-5400 in a USB 3.0 MSPD/SD card reader vs. 18 MB/s with a legit 16 GB Sony memstick. I guess modern CR-5400s are even shittier than my ancient half-broken one.
