>What do I have to do to get Aya to teach me how to be friendly with crows?
Honestly, probably you need to be a good friend to Aya and she will get you or lend you a crow.
Teaching you how to do that on the other hand might be harder. Aya either doesn't want to share the details or it comes to her intuitively, based on her dialogue with Chen from BAiJR:
>Chen: Say, how did you tame that crow? It looks like it really likes you.
>Aya: When you're as strong as I am, all you have to do is hold out your hand to it when you first meet one. You can't really expect to have servants without that sort of absolute difference in power. Besides, this crow is more like my tool than my servant.
I'm now wondering, if you were to befriend Aya, what could she teach you, in terms of conventional power? I feel like teaching you how to flight is obvious, but what beyond that? How much is instinctive for her and how much is learned? What would she be willing to share?
>I want to befriend birds.
Feeding them works, especially with those that are more curious than panicked around you, like it is the case with crows. Some individuals are too afraid around humans, but most crows will tolerate you and over time warm up to you. Just leave food somewhere high enough for cats and rodents to not reach it. Balcony is very good for that, but windowsill will suffice. Nuts and meat are great. Also some basin with fresh water for drinking and washing will be appreciated, trust me.
You might however end up in the same situation as Chen, where crows treat you only as a source of food, not master (or friend, based on what you mentioned). It's hard to gauge, really.
