This went over poorly because no guy would ever take a woman back after that. the key issue being she never asked him his side of the story, and chose a stranger over him after 18 years of trust build-up. He might forgive her as a daughter, but that kind of shit is not something that ever gets forgiven or forgotten in a relationship. Her time is LI was over as soon as she walked out that door without consulting him first. It broke the entire concept of the game.
