The Canon has two options:
>Option 1
David created all xenomorphs, somehow contradicting the lore of AvP that shows aliens fighting predators in pre-industrial human civilizations.
>Option 2
David creates *a* alien. There are other aliens, and we can assume the only way David made aliens was by manipulating the black goo which was pre-disposed to create aliens (engineer plan).
Option two is much better and fits with pre-existing lore without contradiction.
