A bit of an exaggeration, but not far off.
Checking my Arena tier (Tier 18), there are 21,778 people active this week in my tier. Tiers 17-20 usually have ~20,000 each, dunno about the tiers above or below that. But It's safe to assume the game has ~100,000 players minimum. But nobody is spending money anymore.
