読破おめでとう! Life-changing is only ever found by happenstance, not sought after. If the book was memorable that's all that matters.
I don't really care much for action sequences in written media either. This extends even to manga where I still find it hard to follow. Animation is best on that front.

I believe this was written in the planning stages of 2. It came out a mere year after 1 and Minis was intended to be in the first game, after all.

Rude. She had a good head on her shoulders for someone orphaned and raised in a slum. I recall multiple instances where she rightfully scolds the protagonist for doing stupid things.
It was fun learning Minis' family, too, and how Minis is the only メイトルパ summoner in her family bloodline. I remember being pretty surprised to learn that the 3 brothers were her uncles, and even more surprised to learn they dote on Minis.

I like to believe that her regular portrait is drawn that way to make it seem she's clutching at the ribbon. It really is an ever-preaent reminder of level-headedness. I bet Minis would have flipped the fuck off at Yuel if she didn't experience the events of the book.
What's next on the agenda? Are you going to start the second book? I'm thinking of doing so.
