Blaze isn't even my favorite character at all, I just sincerely believe she is the best suitable candidate for "Fifth Core Character" due to who and what she is designed to be already.

Shadow is "Dark Sonic". The core idea with Shadow is that he is an even cooler Sonic, basically. And Shadow often ends up overshadowing Tails and Knuckles, and even Amy as the other hedgehog that fangirls will ship with Sonic, and he above all else overshadows Sonic himself. Shadow does not work in the Core cast, at all, and never will, because he is SHADOW THE HEDGHOG: THE "DARK" SONIC.
You don't put a clone character onto your core cast. If you do that, kill everyone else, because all that matters are the main character and his clones. Sonic, Shadow & Silver can not be in the same "group" unless they are the ONLY members of the group, and everyone else is sidelined.
