I think the problem with most leftist artists is that they want to do art as their job but they are not THAT interested in art. Most if not all working artists started by doing another job and doing art in their free time, but not just doing it, they eat breath and shit art, they would draw in notepads, they would take time in the day to just go and draw people, they would do this daily even if it was inconvenient, they didnt just go into the workforce looking for an art job and their portfolio is 10 drawings, of which 5 are unfinished, art was their obsession and it took them places.

You think you draw a lot, you dont draw as much as these people with art jobs draw. The most important thing in any art job is the ability to actually finished something, and output. You need to be able to mash out 10 drawings in 30 minutes and for them to at least be workable, taking 2 days on a profile drawing of a photo reference is not going to get you work. If youre working by commission you definately need to get another job, and thats the problem with leftists artists, if they want to work as an artists they consider it oppression that they arent getting paid simply for being available.
