Just for you anon, I went and checked.
In DKC1's minecart levels it takes 42 frames in between a banana appearing on the right side of the screen and it reaching the player's hitbox.
In DKC3's sled levels it takes 42 frames for the same thing. So the speed is literally exactly the same and so is the reaction time necessary.
