the extreme fumbles for me that brought it down were
>jimmy's priest father being a parody of a religious character who somehow thinks that the infected are a good rapture thing but at the same time doesn't want them to get to his son (after his mother and sister are killed or infected)
>the jimmy gang's acrobatics (the idea of some roaming gang dressed like that is fun and random, them dispatching zombies like circus animals is not)
>touching an infected and helping it give birth and then taking a screaming soft infant that will inevitably attract infected at the worst time conceivable with you who MAY OR MAY NOT be a carrier of the virus
>the dad not being in more of the film
>people talking loudly when they're in dangerous places where noise can definitely attract attention that will get you killed
other than that I enjoyed it a whole lot, but it really shot itself in the foot with several of these things while it also tried to deliver more serious themes. for me it's a net positive.
