I pretty regularly take the gf /out/ and desu it is a lot of fun, but she's a farm girl so getting sweaty and dirty isn't a big deal to her. What is annoying is my awesome light camping gear is basically useless because she insists on bringing fucktons of stuff when I'm content with the bare minimum and the experience of being /out/ with only a light pack.
