Farmed Giant Centipedes from Thailand and Vietnam make nutritious, tasty snacks once the head and pincers are removed.
The sight of about 4 inches of multi-legged critter can be fairly daunting for the novice eater. The taste starts somewhat mild, but once thorough chewing commenced, there was a slightly bitter taste I can only describe as unpleasant. I'd also recommend thorough chewing because the pointy ends of the legs look like tiny barbs and you wouldn't want a piece to get caught anywhere as it's going down. This isn't a cute little mealworm so ranks pretty high on the fear factor scale.
