Ah I see, good on you for carrying a full size 1911. I only do so when I'm innawoods.

Just let the finish wear naturally imo. I spent hours hand polishing the slide on my first 1911 because the holster wear triggered my tism and it was cool but it showed scratches much more than the bead blast on the DW does. I love a stainless gun though.
