There's no doubt they hobbled them. I think it'd still have been shitty even without it because the Wuk worship probably wasn't them wanting an indigenous character for it (Bunny boy would have been a prime option), but it just made the experience unimaginably worse. I didn't do 7.2 but yall niggas say it's tolerable so it's clear they had the chops to not do that fucking 7.0-7.1 faggotry but for a game that requires extensive story and even with cutscene skipping its walk, talk, talk/find 3, walk, talk, it's just such an oversight. I do not have any hesitation saying 7.0 was the worst RPG experience I've ever played story wise. I've quit games for being boring - DA2 leaps to mind, but I'd play that on repeat before touching DA2. I will urge with fervent passion even if 8.0 is great that any friend of mine that hadn't cleared up to 7.55 just do a MSQ skip. It might honestly still not be a loss compared to paying subs unless you really marathon it because I barely cleared 7.0 before the month ended up and that took pushing myself and having the free time to.
It's just so fucking unbelievable to me that there was an XIV game where I had to psyche myself up to play. Prior to that it was psyche myself to stop playing and not work towards the MSQ.
