It's was literally All in the Family but in cartoon form. A conservative Hank Hill was always growing as a person by being pushed outside of his comfort zone and box. The representation of both the far-right conspiracy theorist, Dale, (also getting cucked) and the deeply racist conservative, Cotton, were always unflattering. Conie, Peggy, and, sometimes even, Bill, were usually the moral compasses and sympathetic characters of the show.
