>I do not see people modding the game as them remedying those flaws. I see it as them adding more flaws to the existing game.
There's modding that just alters colors of clothing or adds details to it like text. I don't think that's equal to modding yourself a lazar that just aimbots players and teleports.
The innocuous modding of one player is only equal to the eggregious modding of another insofar as they'd both be gone if modding were somehow made not possible.
>People can bend themselves in all kinds of shapes to justify their cheating
This reminds me of this piracy meme. The difference between bending yourself out of shape, and just thinking something is fine I think is whether or not you are dignifying the opposition to what you are doing rather than just standing on a personal principle but I digress.
>The thing with GTA V is that it can be an enjoyable game despite its many flaws.
It can be but many of it's flaws are a barrier to the game itself because they are, once again, it's overarching design. I have a number of problems with it, and they go beyond even the barriers to buying things, that is money, but what it does to players and the community in the game when they are placing themselves under the boxes that are those barriers, but that's in part a problem just because of how much stuff is in the game. There's so much that people lose sight of how to even be creative and have fun, and I don't know if it's even possible to bring that back in an orchestrated fashion, like the stuff (I've posted about it before) the people on rooster teeth used to do with these games I think arose naturally. The only preservation of that which I see are youtuber communities with their own little niches like Canuck In Combat and Cuckler with planes or that fresh guy whatever his channel is called, with car meets, and all of that. I'm getting a bit sidetracked, but people have seemingly become very compartmentalized by the games design-
