pretty much every middle/upper class person in Poland is in smaller or bigger percentage ethnically non-Polish because of how our society was historically built, ethnic Poles (Slavs) were either peasants or nobles, but the nobles did not contribute anything, they just consumed taking advantage of their privileged position, so they had no incentive to strive for education and self-improvement. So basically all the city dwellers in Poland, the only people who wanted and could get educated and do some real business, were of foreign origin - mostly Jewish, German, but also Italian, Armenian and many other ethnicities. Poles started mass-migrating to cities only after WW2 but as the working class obviously, while the elites were and still are to a large degree composed of people of foreign origin. We are used to it to this level so it isn't even a topic for discussion, it is just "normal", that if you see a professor or a big business owner on the screen, he will have a non-Polish surname or look somehow not-typically-Polish. The same is about a large part of our political class, people with non-Polish origin are overrepresented.
I'm not saying it's good or bad, that's how it is. This country is very similar to let's say Malaysia in this regard.
