As we were told by the staff, the current status of the franchise is "waiting to see how much money the Akarigen rerun movie and the Pripara x Aikatsu crossover movie make before deciding what to do next." That gives rise to the unfortunate implication that nothing is currently in preproduction, so it'll be quite a while to see if anything comes out of that statement. I think it's a pretty safe bet to guess that we might get a Stars anniversary movie at the minimum next year, but we'll see.
