you're very ignorant about martial arts, i know MMA fighters have a meathead reputation but that actually was also intentionally crafted by UFC when it started to take off back in the day.
fighters are actually the most complete and well-rounded athletes of all and the infinite amount of styles (within specific sports, not just different sports) and personality makes every single fight unique and there are always massive amounts of respect for every bad apple that acts like a cunt.
there are more notable lifestories and dense cultural aspects in combat sports than any other sport, there are also tragedies but thats to be expected as you need to be an extreme person to compete in it.
even without competing this also really develops people mentally and physically.
incase you're not aware wrestling and grappling is also martial arts.
