This is getting overpraised because people are happy that it's a return to Future World concepts but the substance, style and aesthetics are way off.
The cars in the ride and the futuristic city are lame as hell.
The gay looking drone cars and shit CGI in the pre-launch screen room look like something from 2007.
If they wanted to make this a throwback to old Epcot Center it should have gone in one of two possible directions: either make it back into a whimsical showcase of the history of transportation like World of Motion or make it a retro futurist vision of the future. If they'd gone with the latter, they wouldn't have even needed to make the style of it like Horizons, but maybe more of a throwback to 80s cyberpunk like more Blade Runner/Akira style since that's the retrofuturism aesthetic most people these days are accustomed to. 2.0 took the cheap way out by making it Tron-esque when it should have been Blade Runner then and maybe the whole time.
Futuristic car stuff enters lame territory as soon as you present it with alternative energy angles and show the cars as Urkel-mobiles. There isn't a single person that thinks that version of the fake globohomo future is cool or looks cool.
