They scrapped what they initially had after the chinks chimped out over the whole Daiyan datamine thing (which similarly had absolutely nothing going for it after the whole drama until the rewritten event came out). There might've been a statement from Mica explaining the disparity between the actual event and the poster but I can't be arsed to dig through the archives so "just trust me bro".

Villain of the week shit wasn't interesting to me at all besides the few scenes that become relevant later on. You had that 1 night chapter with M4 but there's a drastic jump in quality in Artic Warfare and Deep Dive.

Curious to hear what you think of it though. GF2 was always going to be a thing and I take no issue to that but I'm just disappointed that YZ caved in to a bunch of tourists that do not care about the game nor the setting Mica created.
It's all over anyways and what's done can't be undone. They got the audience they were looking for, which doesn't include me
