I planned to do some larger write-ups for other parts of DRY like the ones I did before, but I think I burnt myself out trying and failing to write that BunBun stuff (I couldn't get into the process, I don't know enough about the Outlaw to write dialogue that sits right with me). So I'll just write about Axis, which was the main last thing I wanted to bring up.

Axis's dialogue in DRY felt particularly un-distinct. I've talked about giving characters voices in earlier write-ups, and Axis is someone I feel has a strong voice in UTY which isn't replicated here. I'll be kind of getting into my own interpretation and how I'm writing his dialogue myself, so keep in mind my slight biases there.

I see Axis as an overly logical but singleminded character, who breaks said convention either when his protocols demand it, or when he gets the chance to be patronizing to others. A character who cannot understand sarcasm from others but who enjoys being sarcastic. Giving literal answers to improperly phrased questions (which may come off as sarcastic but isn't meant to be), and intentionally sarcastic answers to properly phrased questions that he doesn't like. And when his robotic laws interfere with his personal desires, he should be annoyed but not angsty. And while he can get angry (as far as a robot can display things comparable to emotion), he expresses that anger as flatly as everything else. Remember, his character set doesn't even have exclamation marks (though he does have question marks??????)

The main area I think Axis' dialogue could be touched up is in the section where he is alone with Cole. Axis should HATE Cole as an imprint of Chujin's racism, and while he agrees not to be uncooperative, as soon as Kanako is gone Axis should be shittalking Cole at every opportunity even as he helps him. And when Kanako returns, Axis stops directly antagonizing Cole like nothing happens.
