First there was an East (China) to West tech transmission and concurrently a Middle East to tech tranmission to the West, and then we innovated those tech and industrialized and gave tech to Japan who we didn't try to colonize. They ended up industrializing and went after Korea and would be ahead of Korea for over a century until Korea got tech in the 1960s and 1970s. Now Korea's wages and GDP per capita is higher than Japan and they make better chips and phones
