You can! I only play Nikke but even that struggles quite a bit, I tried Genshit a couple years ago when they promised a native Switch port and it ran much worse at about 8-10fps.
Most standalone emulators and Retroarch have better performance when on Android though, so playing something like Spyro through Duckstation at native switch res + widescreen feels great. There's other emulators like JoiPlay that don't have Horizon ports, PSP/N64 which run better on Android, and OpenMW actually works very decently
Plus you can install apps like Syncthing to automatically sync saves/screenshots/configs/whatever to other devices. You can even access the native Switch storage from Lineage, so you can read and write whatever is on your emuMMC
