What's worst is I'll be talking about games as they come out (students ask me how I spent my weekend, I say playing Elden Ring/trying out the new Civ Game) and sometimes they'll respond with "Oh I know what that is!" to find out they're talking about some streamer playing it.
They don't even retain the names of these streamers, they just mindlessly consume. It's insanity.
