I still don't like the idea of blocking romance dialogue during rituals, but maybe there's a way to delay lovin' until the end?
The problem isn't that the ritual ends without pawns, it's that they can't lovin' either, because changing the ritual stage stops them mid-way.

It would work perfectly if they could ask for lovin' during the ritual, but wait until it ends before rushing to bed.
