gay and fake weeb doesn't even know about Hourou Musuko aka Wandering Son, an anime with a HEAVY focus on the experience of Makoto figuring out their gender identity and the struggles that come with being a trans girl in a society that doesn't really (or half-heartedly) accept you,
and there's also takatsuki who's born female but ends up questioning her identity and the anime portrays that phase of questioning and experimenting and having doubts so well it's actually astounding!
wandering son is THE "trans anime" so the fact that you think "there's not a single anime with a focus on transgenderism" is incredibly retarded and uh you should commit seppuku desu yo, because this is straight up embarrassing... i wouldn't want to live if i was SO confidently SO wrong

ok but that's just one so let's keep this going! i WILL admit that there's not as many trans-focused anime as i would like, you kinda gotta know where to look for them and sometimes they're more trans-adjacent than anything else... but "anime with a trans character in it" is more common at least?

another obvious example is "senpai is an otokonoko", although one COULD argue that that's more focused on crossdressing than being trans but honestly, the concept of transgender is simply way different in Japan and the character in senpai is an otokonoko is essentially transgender, if they were western they'd be trans

i feel like i must also mention Stop!! Hibari-kun! simply because of how old it is, during its time there were actually quite a few anime series about gender like there's also ranma 1/2

not quite transgender but Princess Jellyfish is an anime that focuses on a drag queen teaching a nerdy introvert glasses-girl how to pick out gorgeous feminine outfits and how to dress herself and put more thoughts in what to wear, i liked it quite a bit actually! underrated anime

anyway so those are all anime that focus quite heavily on gender, as for haibane renmei a lot of transes like it so... ye lol
