Retro isn't a magical set period of time, it's a change in design philosophy
Hell, the SNES became retro the day the PS1 and Saturn came out. For better or worse, its era as the main definition of "a video game" was over by 1995 and the new paradigm had arrived.
The PS360 era still hasn't ended. We're coming up on year fucking twenty of seventh gen games. There is no discernable "eighth gen" or "ninth gen" which is why Skyrim and Bamham and The Last of Us can keep being republished with virtually no alterations.
