I recently got a Sony KV-29DS1, physically in excellent condition, but it seems to have been badly affected by magnetism at some point.
I'm using a Hozan HC-31 degaussing wand, and while it definitely affects the screen (I can move the blotches around and sometimes nearly erase them from one side), they always return to the exact same positions after power cycling. I've tried multiple techniques like slow spirals, pulling away, and flicking. Flicking seems to be the most effective. The left side now clears much more easily than before.
It is unlikely this is permanent damage since the colors can be corrected temporarily, but it keeps reverting. I’ve attached a picture to show what I’m dealing with. Any insight or advice would be appreciated.
