So the media spent a couple of years saying "these assault style weapons can fire an average of 50-60 rounds per minute" because for them that scares the public enough for the purpose and gets the people bitching and moaning off their case.
After decades of going "ACKTHUALLY" a new generation of writers just said fuck it and leaned into it.
