I love Ishikawa's writing I think she's fantastic but thank god Moe got got. Maybe they could have made her more novel and interesting but ultimately she'd just be in Krile's spot of older (in presentation if no in fact) Sharlayan dweeb.

Yeah her death has served to help Urianger's character design although it's pretty weak when your character concept is just pic related. It works fantastically if you're a one off character whose entire point is that (Ishikawa's mad scientist in the alchemist quest who was trying to resurrect his cat-wife from the 7th umbral calamity), but with Urianger it just feels like a long drawn out survivor's guilt suicide fantasy. To be frank I'm not even sure why he's so suicidal. I swear it's come up twice, once on the moon and another time but I can't recall it.

Unironically Urianger and Thancred having their buddy-cop antics has been more fulfilling as a character arc/angle.
