Isn't that the case for most Casters? Medea got lucky in UBW and managed to snowball the odds of the war by building an entire network of mana faucets. If a Caster had the same stats as the warrior type classes they'd be unstoppable, unless cornered by said classes with no means of backup. It's a similar case to Assassin, where they'd be way too annoyingly busted if they weren't gimped off the get-go.
