killing a zombie is easy if only the brain needs to be neutralized, a quick poke into the eye socket is all it needs and you get to stay far away from the zombie thanks to superior reach, spears are also trivially easy to make out of large sticks or even out of household items like brooms
the ultimate weapon would be something between a poleaxe and a spear, I cannot reiterate how important reach is when you are fighting something that can instantly kill you with a single bite or scratch
