That is to say, they continue to insist that the way they dress is in some way normal.

etc. But the reality is that suits are antiquated, they are out of fashion and will soon be no longer required in even the most formal of situations (in many cases that is already happening)
Now don't get me wrong, I like suits, I wish everybody would wear a suit everyday, but the reality is that it's not the 1950's anymore and most people don't own a suit and never will, and they don't want to.
Rather than trying to cling onto the fashion judgements of the wider public that is rapidly abandoning them, they should instead abandon them in turn.

You don't need a reason, you're not dressing up for some event, you're not putting on your Sunday best, you're wearing a suit because you like suits, there doesn't need to be anything more complicated to it, and you don't, or rather you can't appeal to the normies, so don't even try.
