What isn't bait?

Some things are clearly bait, like someone going

But sometimes there's some nuance to it.
Sometimes someone is genuinely retarded and they immediately devolve into what is effectlvely bait: they're not arguing or doing anything in good faith, it's all about derailing/shitting the thread until they feel they've taken things down to their level and "won" the topic.

All of these are still very much present in the thread, I don't think the brits had a monopoly on retards, old or juvenile.
