Best hope for a course correction is for the sequel to be a Rise of Skywalker mess that tries to make everyone happy and fails even harder than DE. A true course correction would be for Square to scrap any plans for a DE sequel and focus ahead on a proper LiS1 remake, in the same vein as Resident Evil or Silent Hill did. But it's also going to be extremely risky too
