Hello G-man! I can't say for sure, it's not that our houses can't trap heat, specially since most are reinforced on the inside and made with cement, or some type of cement mix, and some with bricks... It's just that the air is extremely cold. It's literally air coming from the south of the country. We're the south-est country in the world. And the south pole is fókín cóld mate.
I do feel like my house can be quite cool even in the winter. Specially the kitchen, since it has a high ceiling.
