I know why they do this, actually. one of the things amazon did to streamline their delivery process was standardize the boxes sizes so they could more easily calculate, predict, and fill truckloads. so every product needs to fit into one of a very few options, because thats more efficient at scale for amazon
its pretty clever from a data perspective; its pretty annoying from a consumer perspective
