Yes, I caught flak like that but for Guard about only taking (mostly) plasma guns. Some guard players even fell for the psyop and advised other guard players to take grenade launchers even though they were completely awful and ineffective (against Marines). I remember playing a game once giving my guardsmen only grenade launchers as their specials and it was awful. They killed nothing.
