SM are elite again and not a hord army.
We get finally 3rd/4ed like vehicle rules where vehicles are a entity and not just a 2d pawn with HP and damage.
We get all teh flavor back from 3/4ed with armys like the lost and damend, mechenized imperial guard, imperial guard in general gets its flavor back.
Gw makes the dark mechanicum.
We get forgworld accessory's back and FW terrain. as matter of fact they should revive FW.
GW finaly reworks kill team as its second worst game and has nothing in comon with 40k exept the models. they should have a "your" kill team attitude and not those pre defined soules shit squads.
It should be the entery to 40k in general. Kids cant afford to buy whole armys at once. Just a squad vs squad game mode with rules as close as possible to 40k to make the transition as easy as possible.

Daemons in 40k shouldn't be scifi themed (Vashtorr excluded, of course). Daemons should be mythic and otherworldly to distinguish them as being created in the subconscious of psionic races. Chaos Space Marines, et al, should be scifi themed.

Some space wolf and blood angel units are LITERALLY just shit like "assault intercestors+blood angel sprue" or "space wolf spure+reivers". I would like armies like Raven Grads or White scarfs to get similar treatmints. Easily better. It seems like it came out at a good time to get existing players invigorated and new players interested, and the matchup of marines vs tyranids is a classic archetype for sci-fi. Necrons as the other guys in a starter set is a kinda meh, but I daresay that any faction other than Orks or Tyranids would seem like a poor choice because those two are such good ones for this kind of set. It helps that the models are great.

Also recasts are not always going to come indistinguishable, get comfortable with greenstuff and superglue for repairs. Ironically the newer stuff IS pretty much flawless, the old OOP stuff someone would largely have to resort to recasts for can suck because the recasters have the same idea. Flaws introduced in one recast get replicated and new ones are made, on top of what was already a potential failcast from GW.

Space Marines are kinda cool when you aint got posters screeching in ya ear that they're lame, and them being so over-engineered lorewise gives credence to the potency of other factions. The Imperial Guard a more interesting faction even though they are literally just regular humans, just by Space Marines existing. The game having so many factions might be why people tend to gravitate towards one, and why some of them seem under-developed because they are. Factions that sell fewer kits or books are harder to validate sinking resources into making more fleshed out if ultimately few people are interested in them. If 40k only had Marines, Orks, and Eldar, it might be a more even split.

Yes, I caught flak like that but for Guard about only taking (mostly) plasma guns. Some guard players even fell for the psyop and advised other guard players to take grenade launchers even though they were completely awful and ineffective (against Marines). Baseline terminators have always kind of been a trap point sink. They're a decent anvil unit for holding points but they don't do a whole lot and their defensive profile has been powercrept on severely over the years. Special terminator units in other factions are usually better.

You have to understand that we need to cut down on datasheet bloat and make it easy for people to read them so they don’t have to do basic math. So instead of letting you put eradicators or whatever in a regular heavy intercessors squad we’re gonna add a bunch of data sheets where the only change is the weapon they carry and some ability that lets them reroll into different targets. Except for Deathwatch, but they aren’t going to be an army much longer anyway.

For all Veteran units (Termies, BGV, SGV, VGV) they get a rule where they get a buff after the army kills the Oath target.

Terminators and Veterans know that the enemy is weakest immediately after the death of a figurehead, so maybe normie Terminators get +5 Lethals only after the rest of the army kills an Oath target

Some genuinely sharp, well-read guys with real taste, who also love warhammer 40,000, create their own rules for both skirmish and big40k. They make game highly customizable, but not overbloat and then the game becomes incredibly popular, rivaling official GW products. More and more people from your LGS play their game, instead of original 40k.
Naturally, their game meant to be played with standard 40k miniatures or their analogues.

Then, they go a step further and build their own lore. It has a similar feel to 40k but is free of woke agenda. It features meaningful stories where characters can actually die for good, and events have a real impact on the universe. And this lore becomes also popular.

And the kicker? Games Workshop can't do a thing about it because these creators are based in places like Belarus or Tajikistan, well outside of GW's legal reach.

And developers of this game really listen to community and talk to us. And they don't have cycle of new edition every 3 years, instead they inent to create a perfect system with slight updates here and there from time to time, to keep things fresh.

And then GW goes bankrupt and we laugh at them.

Yeah, this is the best scenario for us all.

Exactly as jes goodwin already drew them:
practically craftworld eldar but with slightly more archaic helmets with lots of plumes and bold crests of hair, the armours are slightly less sleek and the models have overall more capes, gloves and clothes than visible armor, no tribal elements beyond a few tattoos and some furs/scaly hides on clothes
Draw a straight line starting from an eldar guardian to an eldar ranger, and then keep drawing that line until you reach a point as distant from the ranger as the ranger was to the guardian, the end result shouldn't be completely alien to a craftworld eldar army, first of all because it has to exist as part of the craftworld eldar army.

the issue is units make so many attacks now that this is simply unviable as it doesn't work with fast rolling without special dice. No one wants to slow roll 40 D1 ap0 attacks but it's equally as cheap to just roll 40 dice and to have the unit be basically impervious to those attacks as long as they don't roll too many ones or twos, it stretches what can be considered reasonable play.

lots of customization option. it may be just to my personal preferences but I hate assembling models that are split in half vertically. it's also terrible if you want to paint in subassemblies. you WILL have to clean up the paint job multiple times after building the model completely
