Honestly mate, you really are just coping and having a little episode because you can't handle being wrong.
I jumped in because I enjoy bantering about elves with my friend, and wanted to do the same thing in the internet. I don't even actually hate elves I just get laughs engaging in friendly banter about them. There's no conspiracy, and you're making a fool of yourself for no reason.
