Wish I could help more. I'm running the GOG version of Gold patched to the newest 227 version without any audio or other major issues.
Also: Note the UT tag for some of those recs, those normally have to be installed and played through UT99. This modpack has a guide to get them going through Unreal Gold 227: https://www.moddb.com/mods/botpack227/downloads/ - that's if you ever want to attempt playing them through the gameplay mods I mentioned.
