I'm autistic and have always connected my CPU fan to a dedicated molex connector. Saving the 0.2w with dynamic fan speed control from the MB just isn't worth the squeeze to me. I have 4 gentle typhoon 120mm fans running full speed silent in my case (2 intake, 1 exhaust, one CPU) for years on one of the pic related. total power draw with the adapter is around 3.2w. I measured it too. Your problem is the easiest problem to solve in the history of /hsg/ Spend the $8 and move on bro.
