Acting is broad, I agree. But we weren't talking about acting philosophies nor methods. Translating Shakespeare for a cinematic experience is difficult; it takes skill. You can't just throw Laurence Olivier from the stage in front of a camera and hope for the best. Othello (1965) took years of Olivier's efforts to change his body and voice and the way he moved. He was famously dismissed by Orson Welles as being unable to play Othello with such a high-pitched voice. But Olivier was able to alter his style and performance from the stage for the screen, both in Hamlet (1948) and Othello (1965).
