You are mostly correct, though we have no proof that our existence in this "prison" is beyond planetary, beyond this galaxy or universal. I would say we are in a sectional grid, meaning our actions, thoughts, etc. are paralocal, but not universally broadcasted. It's easy for a human to go from 0 to 100 and say the whole universe, multiverse etc. is like this, but even a type 2-3 civilisation could easily cuck us and make us feel hopeless.

You're falling in a trap of dualist thinking where you're pinning scientific progress against supernatural. Even this universe is vast enough for species who would be seen as a greater power compared to us. A soul could be as simple as a logfile, to give a simple explanation.

>But you are going to die and cease to exist forever.
Afterlife could exist without god. A type 2-3 civ could believably larp as god to humans. Afterlife could be a mundane thing going through some alien bureacracy. There could be beings out there surpassing the concept of god.

Even a type 2-3 civilisation could larp as god, humans could be easily fooled. The crazy thing is there could be beings out there that surpass the whole concept of god. If there is an afterlife it could be mundanely managed by some alien bureaucracy.
