DARPA first tried out large nueronets in Vietnam by dropping thousands of devices across the jungle in an attempt to track Viet Cong movements through the vast space...(an idea already put in practice in some way in WWII albeit using ships and plans to collect data...eventually as computing power increased the military began developing programs that could track/predict where the next IED strike would take place, and autocode to integrate every aircraft in the sky as well as automatically generate code to help F-35's incredibly complex hover-mode among other things...

Eventually as all that advanced and the enemy had it...they released it into the civilian sector via Chatbot and xAI.

Rule of thumb: military has it at least 20 years before we even know it exists..

Drone warfare is an example...all that tech was sitting on the shelf for years...I carried the same jammers in Iraq in 2006 except primarily to stop remote IEDs from going off.
