You're misunderstanding what OP is doing. Hes not using the acog as a magnifier, hes using it as a canted optic. Usually people run 1x red dots offset/canted while running their magnified optic on the rail. OP is doing the opposite. Also, the point youre trying to make only makes sense if you switch your focus to the prism reticle if using the acog as a magnifier instead of staying focused on the dot. When set up behind a 1x dot, acogs most definitely act as a magnifier. In fact theyre the reason we even have magnifiers today in the form that they're in. Picrel
