For people that spend hundreds or thousands of bucks on gacha games, it becomes addicting and they are chasing a purple dragon. No matter how much they spend, they can never reach the full potential, or if they do, the next patch is not far away. The games are designed to be predatory and do not give a fuck about the well being of their players.
Gacha players will justify themselves by telling everyone to just not spend money, but somehow there are a fuckton of very successful gacha games out there and the problem isn't going away. People love to misuse the term slippery slope, but it's actually real for these games.
