So, how did they balance it being gacha shit with the gameplay? In a normal game, you can win and progress by strategizing and making the right calls. Naturally, to make tons of money, you would want players to encounter some sort of roadblock, that can only be overcome by grinding all sorts of stupid secondary resources or spend cash for immediate progression.
This is a fucking awful conundrum that seemingly all gacha games not only can't avoid, but actively and with great precession try to implement.

It's amazing. Realistically, there is no reason why they need to force a change of heart on the guy. All the other Palace Rulers in P5 were targeted because they couldn't be caught by conventional means. There was no way to take them down with the resources as the Phantom Thieves' disposal in the real world. Half the time they were backed into a corner and this was the only means of fighting back.

But this guy? The only reason this guy can't be caught is because apparently, every single person in Tokyo is blind and the incidents seemingly always happen in the security cameras' blind spots. Kiuchi isn't some powerful or untouchable individual protected by either his status or the situation he's built around himself. He's just a random-ass guy assaulting people in a subway station. He does it every day. In broad daylight. Surrounded by witnesses.

If you actually consider Wonder's circumstances and compare him to Joker, it's pretty funny to think about.

You can upgrade your Ann with the dupe Ann. Gacha games always have some kind of upgrade system that uses duplicates to improve the character. It's a way to get people to buy more rolls. In other gachas, it's even the difference between a character being usable or not.
